Bliss. If one had to try and describe the Napa Valley in one word and one word only, 'Bliss' would be it. Rolling hills, sprawling meadows, old growth oak trees and manicured vineyards all basking in the warm California sun. Napa County is located north of San Francisco and Marin County and east of Napa County and Valley. The Napa Valley is about 30 miles long with the town of Napa at the southern end and the town of Calistoga at the northern end. With over 300 award-winning wineries in dotting the valley, it is no surprise that that the most popular tourist activity in the area is participating in guided tours and wine tasting . Self guided tours of local vineyards and wineries is also an excellent way to experience the Napa Valley. The county seat and major town in the Napa Valley is Napa, a modern city with 85,000 inhabitants. Other major incorporated towns include Calistoga and St. Helena.
